Picture A Christmas

Are you up to the Challenge?

In order to more fully bring the Spirit of Christmas into your home this season, Sister Lancaster and I have created a Christmas challenge, we like to call "Picture A Christmas"!  The goal: recreate the scene of our Savior's birth by doing things that He would have done! The task is easy: print off the attached photos, color, and cut, as well as the instructions. Then complete each specified assignment on its day.  Once the activity has been completed, add the appropriate piece to your nativity!

We know that the real Reason for the Season is our Savior, Jesus Christ.  Through Him, and His precepts, we can return to live with our Heavenly Father in a state of eternal joy.  We know that as you complete this task allongside us, the Spirit of Christmas will be brought into your home.  You will more fully recognize how His coming to the earth affects you personally, and you will feel of His love for you and your family.  As President Thomas S. Monson said, "To catch the real meaning of the spirit of Christmas, we need only drop the last syllable and it becomes the Spirit of Christ."

Picture a Christmas

InstRuctions- Create the nativity scene and bring the Spirit of Christmas in your home as you complete this Christmas challenge!  For each day, complete the specified activity.  Once the activity has been completed, add the appropriate character or piece to your nativity! 

December 13- Movie Night! Watch Christmas movies from mormonchannel.org                                                                                           Put out the Stable and Manger

December 14- Read "The Living Christ" as a family. Talk about who Jesus is to you.                                                                         Put out the Donkey and Sheep

December 15- When Christ was on the earth He organized His church for us. Go to church today!                                                    Put out the star

December 16- Mary is the Mother of Jesus. Watch a video about her here,

December 19- Write your testimony of Jesus Christ out on paper and give it to one of your friends! December 20- Temples remind us of Christ's light! Look at pictures of temples on lds.org/temples. Which temple is your favorite?

December 22- When you take the sacrament today, listen to the promises you made at baptism to show you'll follow Christ. What are the blessings God has promised you?                                                                                                          Put out a wiseman

December 23- Read the Christmas story in The Book Of Mormon, 3rd Nephi ch. 1                                                                  Put out a wiseman

December 24- For Family Home Evening, read the Christmas story from Luke ch. 2.                                                              Put out baby Jesus

December 25- Have family prayer together before opening presents to tell Heavenly Father how thankful you all are, as a family, for His son Jesus Christ.
